Environment & Forests Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that the Central government will take all steps to clean river Godavari. Talking to reporters in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, Mr Javadekar said, the Centre has already taken steps to clean river Ganga and all necessary steps will be taken to clean Godavari also. Mr.Javadekar, took a holy dip in the river at Rajamundry yesterday on the occasion of Godavari Pushkaram.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister N Chinnarajappa said, all steps have been taken for smooth flow of pilgrims at various pushkhar ghats. He along with state DGP J V Ramudu and Municipal Adminisration minister P Narayana conducted an aerial survey of the ghats situated in Kovvuru, Narasapuram and Kotipalli. They also inspected the ghats and enquired the pilgrims about the facilities provided at the ghats.
